Detectability of Delta variant by Accu-Tell® SARS-CoV-2 Antigen Rapid Tests

According to COVID-19 Weekly Epidemiological Update Edition 52, published 10 August 2021 by World Health Organization (WHO), 142 countries (seven new countries) have reported cases of the Delta variant.

The data of the viral load of the positive test of Delta infections suggests the potential for faster viral replication and increased infectiousness of the Delta variant during early stages of infection.

To evaluate the detectability of Delta variant by our Accu-Tell^® SARS-CoV-2 Antigen Rapid Tests, we tested our Accu-Tell^® SARS-CoV-2 Antigen Rapid Tests for Nasopharyngeal Swab and Accu-Tell^® SARS-CoV-2 Antigen Rapid Tests for Nasal Swab by diluting the inactivated COVID-19 delta variant virus culture medium in July, 2021. The results showed that Delta variant is detectable with our Accu-Tell® SARS-CoV-2 Antigen Rapid Tests.
